Traveling to Asia

It's Amazing to Travel
It’s Amazing to Travel

It’s been almost two years since I last traveled outside of the US and I’m due for another oversea’s vacation. Ideally, I would like to travel to Asia once a year. I feel like there is so much of Asia that I haven’t seen. I’m pretty good at sleeping for long hours and sitting up straight from all the domestic flights I’ve been on. These photos where from my past trip to Japan and I still feel like I haven’t seen all of Japan. Although, I had a great time, I would like to visit China or Vietnam again. My parents went back to Vietnam in December of 2012 and they said a lot has changed and encouraged me to go. So the next time I’m in Asia, Vietnam will be my first stop.

  1. I would highly recommend Guilin China. It is easy to get to from Vietnam. You just take a train to NanNing, and then a short strain from NN to Guilin. If you google Guilin and look at the images, you will see why so many consider it the most beautiful place in the world.

  2. Well Asia is big, and there is no reason to restrict yourself to a few countries and sites. If you are in Vietnam you could also travel through the mountains or visit Sa Pa due to its ethnic diversity, kind of like this man:

I have never been to Sa Pa of course but maybe you will see a few Hmong that look like these:

Then again I don’t know you personally so maybe you already knew about them. *blush*

But back to the main topic. You could also visit Angkor Wat in Cambodia, or maybe riding on elephants through the jungle in India or Thailand. Gosh what else is there… well the Chinese wall, or maybe “walls” is more fitting due to its inconsistent structure, you could visit India in general, or maybe Mongolia. Or maybe Taipei during the Pride parade, I am sure you would have fitted in perfectly with all the other manhunt muscle hunks in 2012: http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=X0EXrDXYvsw

You could visit the Philippines or Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Maybe go to Israel or visit Turkey, although politically speaking you would visit Europe then.

  3. Vietnam is a fascinating place. My partner and I spent a week there 2 years ago on our way home from Europe. Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) was a fascinating mix of Communism and free enterprise. Lots of contrasts. We’d recommend lots of things, but if you want to do something different, try the cooking course at the old opium factory!
