My father loves watching football, basketball, and soccer. In high school, when I told my father that I wanted to join the wrestling team, he was a little disappointed that I didn’t choose the sports he loved. After wrestling practice I would usually take the bus home, but there where times when I begged in to pick me up so I could slowly introduced him to my couch and team.\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

My father is a stubborn person. He refused to watch my high wrestling matches and he would come up with excuses like he didn’t need to be there. Every match I wrestled he was never in the stand cheering me on. Even though I won’t hear him anyway, it made me feel good that I had his support.\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

My senior year at the state final championship, I was nervous because it was a big tournament, everyone knew you have to go out with a bang. Tons of couch from universities attended to scout for talent, so the pressure was on.\u00a0Before the event started, my father shows up to greet me an tells me that he is sorry for not coming to my match before because he didn’t want to see his son hurt. It took me a moment to process everything and I gave him a hug. I thank my father for supporting me at the time it was needed.<\/span><\/h3>\n
