I\u2019ve been seeing gains but ever since I moved to another gym, all there olympic bars have rough gripping in the middle. It\u2019s bad news if I\u2019m lifting heavy because the bar resting on my upper back, as I\u2019m doing squat, feels like sandpaper and after a while, it tears your skin. Some people think you have to be manly and endure the pain, but I opted out and got a squat pad. In my book, it&#8217;s about training smarter not harder.
