I was recently introduced to this concept of tidying up my house. My good friend Kevyn came over after reading this book and wanted me to minimize what I have. I was sold on the idea since there were many things I could throw out. In the first part of tidying up, I gathered all my clothes and separated them in categories – shirts, pants, jackets, etc.. Then I was to examine each item of clothes and ask myself if this item brought me joy. If it did, then I keep and if not, I donate or throw away. The clothing part was easy, but when I applied the same concept to my electronics I realized something about myself. I learned that I tend to keep things around thinking that I may need in the future and I tend to buy things based on how functional it can be. For example, I tend to keep USB cords, internet cables, and power surge outlets. After tidying up my house, I\u2019m more incline to purchase things in the intent that it will bring me joy.
