English words are popular in Japan for branding and marketing purposes, even kids are given English names because it sounds good. One kid I met was named \u201cTaxi\u201d. Even t-shirts with English words on it are popular as long as the logo is cool and the design has vibrant colors.<\/span><\/h4>\n

I was at the heart of Kobe\u2019s Sannomiya fashion center and I saw a Japanese guy wearing a Gay and Lesbian shirt with a rainbow logo, walking with his girlfriend. I thought it was kind of funny because he didn\u2019t speak any English and when my buddy asked him, he didn\u2019t have a clue what it said; he just liked the colors.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Up close the shirt reads, \u201cGay Lesbian Surf Association. Come on out, the water is fine.\u201d<\/span><\/h4>\n
