Beach Runner<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

When you hear the word Guardian, you probably think of a protector who watches over someone and keeps them from harm, maybe like a superhero. Well this evening I was out at dinner with my best friend and her boyfriend. She said to me, \u201cWe would like you to be the Guardian over my daughter Alexandria, if anything ever happens to us.\u201d Wow, that was a shock. They want to entrust with their child, an awesome responsibility. She said that I understand her values and knows that I would raise her accordingly.<\/span><\/h4>\n

I was humbled to say the least. There have been a few times in my life I was caught by surprise, but this definitely was something I never expected. Of course I agreed to be her Guardian. I told her I was a little worried since I don\u2019t really know anything about raising a girl, but they said there will be other family around to help when I need it. It made me realize that I\u2019ve had a pretty blessed and carefree life up until now, with very little responsibility; I\u2019ve pretty much done what I\u2019ve wanted up until now.<\/span><\/h4>\n

I have always thought of myself as a great uncle, the \u201cfun Uncle\u201d who spoils my nieces and nephews and then goes home and enjoys peace and quiet. I never really thought of myself as a possible father figure until now. Sometimes life throws little surprises at you and other times it is a huge surprise. I never want anything to happen to her parents; that\u2019s for sure. But I know one thing for sure; Alexandria will have the hottest Guardian on the planet watching over her.<\/span><\/h4>\n
