Hey everybody! This is Robin Cadiz and Alex! We just got back from San Francisco Pride today and it was such an amazing experience! It was both our first time so we didn’t know what to expect. On Saturday, we ended our night at The Pink Party, an outdoor block party in the Castro. It was so intense the streets were packed and all you could see was a sea of people, but we had an amazing time dancing with the crowd.
Today we were in the SF Pride Parade on top of the Asian Pacific Islander Float which some of you help raise money for through the Kickstarter! Thank you for that! The float was a giant rice cooker which was a symbol for a melting pot! We had such a great time dancing, cheering, seeing our fans, and representing gay Asians.
During Pride, we also ran into some PeterFever alums, Jethro and Jessie Colter. Jethro was Mr. GAPA and on the API float with us and we met up with Jessie after the parade to hang out.
We ended the day hanging out at the API booth dancing to music and enjoying the amazing San Francisco weather.
If you haven’t been to a pride before it’s definitely a really fun experience, especially SF Pride! We had such a great time! It was fun meeting the fans and celebrating gay Asians!
