Do you find yourself in bed and before you fall asleep, you check a few sites on your iPad then later be shocked that it’s 3 AM and worse you don’t remember what you read or watched? I don’t know about you guys, but I feel with technology we are consistently stimulating our minds with useless things. It’s a cycle that doesn’t stop.
For example, I’m going to reenact my iPad insomnia and you can tell me if you had a similar experience. I’m going to give you the gist of it because there’s too much to cover. It’s bed time and I check my Facebook one last time before I head to bed. Then I see that my slickdeal.net window is still open. I read couple deals, then one hits me. Amazon has a sale on Samsung S3 Virgin Mobile phone that I was thinking about upgrading.
I spent a couple of moments justifying that the S3 barely came on Virgin Mobile network and they were selling it at retail price. I purchased the phone through amazon for 20% less, then thought about the differences between the S4. I spent a significant amount of time researching the differences and came to the conclusion that it’s only a few improvements that I would enjoy. However, that wasn’t enough, I had to do a cost analyst of getting the S4 through T-Mobile’s network compared to Virgin Mobile that I’ve been using for over a year.
So, I logged back on to Amazon and cancelled my order and then I did a comparison with the HTC One with the S4. After giving so much thought I decided to go with T-mobile S4. After all the research is time for bed. But Wait! I start to see ads of HTC One Google Edition and S4 Google Edition. I think to myself WTF, I have to know what this is about.
Several sites and video later, I learned the difference and check the time and it’s almost 3 AM. I start to get pissed because I spent useless time online and now it’s 3 AM, which cuts into my daily gym routine. I spend another hour kicking myself in the butt until I finally fall asleep at 4 AM. What a waste of a night, don’t you think?
Peter…insomnia is the worst! Beware of those distractions which steal your time and money. Besides, your iPad could be used for something fun…like joining us on your live cam feature. You’re the best, Peter
It does seem like a waste of time that could be directed to a different activity, but you hit the nail right on the head, we all have found ourselves in that situation at one time or another, just shows we are all more alike than we may think.
Agreed!

can I lay on your bed with my head on your chest? =)
There are so many better things you could be doing in bed until 4am. And sleeping is second on the list!
