October starts the annual scary season, and award-winning gay Asian site PeterFever kicks off the celebration with fun and chills, as they present their new five-episode takeoff of this year’s viral horror sensation, “Obsession”. “ObseXXion” is more thrills than chills though, as the tale of a wish gone wrong explodes into erotic hijinks spiced up with a modern gay man’s nightmare of a possessive, jealous boyfriend in constant need of attention and validation. A shy man wishes his crush would desire him “more than anything”— then discovers why the shopkeeper warned that the wish could never be undone. Featuring new PeterFever discoveries Andrew Akito and Bambi Twunk, as well as veteran favorites Kai Carter, Zen Gōken, and Benvi, the story of ObseXXion adds a new flavor to familiar tropes that warn “Careful what you wish for, you might get it!” Zen wants Andrew. Badly. There’s just one problem: Andrew doesn’t seem to desire him nearly as much.
After getting some questionable coaching from his friend Kai on winning Andrew’s affection, Zen stumbles upon a mysterious shop where the owner offers him an unusual solution: the ‘One Dick Willow’, an object said to have the power to grant its owner one very specific wish.
Before he leaves, the shopkeeper warns, “The wish can never be undone.” But Zen doesn’t take that seriously. And before long, fixation becomes: OBSEXXION!
At the center of the aXXtion, Akito stretches his acting chops as the needy boyfriend who can’t ever get all the attention and devotion he suddenly craves, and turns in a hilarious performance balancing seductive sex appeal, humor and a whiff of dangerous threat. And matching his strong performance, Zen anchors the story with sweetness as the shy, sympathetic wishmaker who gets more than he bargained for with his errant wish. Andrew recalls the fun challenge inherent in playing the out of control lover. “Going from intense moments of acting unhinged and almost dangerous straight into a hot sexual episode is not the easiest, but the challenge was part of the fun. I needed to give my all erotically while still staying believably deranged. I hope viewers see both sides of that in my performance. I loved having the opportunity to play the extreme character. It was a first time for me, but I like a role with layers. So it was right up my alley!”
Written, directed and lensed by Guy Criss, “ObseXXion” finds a steady balance of hot erotic fun and anxious humor that viewers will immediately relate to. He notes, “The chemistry between Andrew and Zen is what makes this story work. Zen brings a sweetness and vulnerability that makes you root for him, while Andrew can turn an affectionate moment into something hilariously uncomfortable or genuinely unsettling. Filming in downtown L.A., including at Kiso Bar, gave us a great backdrop for that shift from an ordinary crush to a wish spiraling out of control.”
