I have been flying a lot lately, which was fun at first but now I’m getting worn out. To make matters worse, I end up sitting next to people who want to talk the entire flight. I communicate with people all day long and I look forward to a few hours of alone time while flying. My friends and I agree that men don’t like to talk more than 1,000 words a day; so a 4 hour conversation on a flight is too much for me. Face it; men prefer to communicate through non-verbal actions (aka body language).
Since I was running a day late for my video and photo shoots in Hawaii, I was thinking about upgrading to first class. I use to think that people in first class were crazy for spending so much money on a ticket. I know some of them use their reward miles to upgrade, but that seems like a waste to me. On the other hand, first class people get nice accommodations when waiting for the plane, have priority through security, and they have those great big seats for sleeping.
Another benefit when flying first class is privacy. I have found that when I’m confined on a plane, it’s the perfect time to write my blogs, think of new ideas for videos/photos, and come up with new business ideas. In coach I either get people hitting on me or reading off my computer screen and then commenting on what I’m writing. Half the time I’m writing personal emails and talking about sexual stuff which I don’t feel like sharing with the person next to me.
So I have made up my mind, I’m flying First Class next time I have a long flight. More than anything, I think this is a good way for me to get some time to myself as my schedule and life gets busier. Of course if any of you, my friends and fans, can hook me up with free upgrades that would be AWESOME!
Peter:
I find first class of little value for flights of less than 2 hours. 2 hours or more, it’s a real help--particularly with Transpac, Southern Hemisphere and European destinations. The idea that you’ll have quiet and undisturbed time is slightly more likely, but not entirely--I’ve had flights in F where the passenger beside me focused on their own activities, but some flights a conversation starts up during taxi to takeoff, and it doesn’t stop until we’ve fetched our carryons for deplaning. I suspect you’re familiar with screen filters that prevent those beside you from seeing what’s on the screen. Write some notes here about your F experience.
Actually I haven’t been on First class yet. I plan to on my next trip and I’ll write an article about it.
I agree …you a stud dude.
I absolutely agree all that privacy or manner of passenger we need.
Hey Peter you must be in Hawaii you got a hella of a tan going there. By the way if I sat next to you on the plane I wouldn’t say a word. Just maybe stare a alot.
That’s right. I’m agree.
Happy birthday, Peter
Of course you should fly first class. After all everything about you is first class anyway, so the travelling should match up.
Bon voyage !
I would just be upfront with people and politely tell them you are either trying to get some rest and that you are not interested in unsolicited feedback….period…..if they think you are a jerk then that’s their problem. If you don’t give “some” people guidelines they’ll run with it…..
I certainly don’t have a problem laying down they law when I need to and I would also NEVER impose myself on someone else like you describe what happens to you….not my style and has never been necessary…Don’t be too nice…..
as long as i can see you i’m content
I envy that piece of cloth!*lol*.
HELLO PETER. I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU, IT FEELS UNEASY AND UNCOMFOTRABLE WHEN PEOPLE TRY TO TALK TO YOU ON OCCASIONS WHEN YOU WANT SOME PRIVATE TIME FOR YOURSELF TO RELAX OR THINK TO CLEAR OUT YOUR MIND. IT IS MORE DISTURBING WHEN THEY TRY TO LOOK ON WHAT YOU ARE DOING, LIKE READING OR WRITING SOMETHING YOU CONSIDER TO BE PRIVATE AND FOR PERSONAL EYES ONLY. HOWEVER, YOU CANNOT BLAME THEM ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE ON A PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AND THEY SEE A PERSON AS EYE CATCHING AND AS HOT LIKE YOU. TAKE CARE ALWAYS.
