When you hear the word Guardian, you probably think of a protector who watches over someone and keeps them from harm, maybe like a superhero. Well this evening I was out at dinner with my best friend and her boyfriend. She said to me, “We would like you to be the Guardian over my daughter Alexandria, if anything ever happens to us.” Wow, that was a shock. They want to entrust with their child, an awesome responsibility. She said that I understand her values and knows that I would raise her accordingly.
I was humbled to say the least. There have been a few times in my life I was caught by surprise, but this definitely was something I never expected. Of course I agreed to be her Guardian. I told her I was a little worried since I don’t really know anything about raising a girl, but they said there will be other family around to help when I need it. It made me realize that I’ve had a pretty blessed and carefree life up until now, with very little responsibility; I’ve pretty much done what I’ve wanted up until now.
I have always thought of myself as a great uncle, the “fun Uncle” who spoils my nieces and nephews and then goes home and enjoys peace and quiet. I never really thought of myself as a possible father figure until now. Sometimes life throws little surprises at you and other times it is a huge surprise. I never want anything to happen to her parents; that’s for sure. But I know one thing for sure; Alexandria will have the hottest Guardian on the planet watching over her.
Wow Pete… I’m kinda taken aback by this awesome story but at the same time, I ve always knew you are more than a poster boy. This story warms my heart a great deal and I believe you ll be a great guardian and protector of Alexandria. Correct me if Im wrong, but you do look like a Type 8 Personality -- a Challenger and Protector. Challenger because you are a trailblazer, a trend setter and a leader in your own field; and Protector because you use your strength and qualities to nurture and mentor others. Type 8s are powerful leaders, awesome mentors and spiritual seekers… : )

I know a few people with Autism, what does that have to do with the story?
Well let’s just say that my parents will be gone very soon and they told my sister to take care of me when they’re gone. Only reason in respective way, I feel the same from your story in the opposite way. I’m very sorry for telling you this, I really respect you and I never met to disrespect or hurt you. I’m very x3 sorry I hope someday you’ll understand about me and know of my pain and depression the way I felt.
