Beat the Summer Heat

I can’t wait until summer in Chicago. I’ve heard mixed reviews from people, but I really want to experience it for myself. I love hot, humid weather where I have sweat dripping down my body and I’m forced to walk around naked all the time.

I haven’t been to Lake Michigan yet and tested the water. Does anyone know if it is warm in the summer? In Northern California, the water temperature in the ocean is always cold so I never go swimming; just hang out on the beach.

What should I do this Memorial Day weekend? Write your suggestions below.

  1. Wow! That picture up top is stunning. The stuff I have imagined that involves us two! Wink wink. I live in Iowa and the water tends to be warm

  2. Hey Peter! I’m actually from the Chicago area, and it can definitely get hot in the summer, especially around the end of June/early July. So walking around naked’s probably your best bet.

In the meantime, if it’s warm, you should definitely consider perusing some of the beaches to get a feel for them. Or, in the spirit of the holiday, go to one of the parks for a cookout with some friends if you have any in the area. Hope you enjoy the weekend!

  3. Well, it’s been pretty warm already and this weekend to have days in 90s, so hot and humid weather is already here. Usually, we get breaks. It can be 95 one day and 75 the next. As far as Lake Michigan is concerned, a little chilly now but by July it will be nice: most days in July and August the water temp is in the 70s.

  4. Enjoy Chicago Summer! Bike the Lakefront as much as possible and you can still Bike The Drive on Sunday. It’s an amazing sight! Thousands of bikes and no cars!
