I already have enough competition out there, now I got food porn to deal with. I was having dinner with 4 of my friends over the weekend. We ordered and when the waiter came back to set our entrees on our table, all my friends took out their phones to take photos of what they are eating.
It seems more like a religious ceremony, you know before you bite into your food, you hold hands and pray. When I asked them about it, they said they like follow food porn blogs and post pictures of the food they eat. I thought this was something a few people do, but I started to notice at restaurants, before they eat, a lot of people take a photo of what’s on their plate. This totally blew my mind. I’d rather see actual porn then food.
I’m guilty! I’m one of those people!! I always take out my ipod touch since I always carry it with me while listening to music and take pictures of the delicious food that I eat lol.

I discovered that when I lived in Singapore about 10 years ago. At the office, we showed photos of the best kind of food of your favourite food court. Asians like talking about food 🙂 During lunch, they talk about what they will eat for the lunch. It was a way to share information about the food. Then I think with the globalization (mostly with the help of the web), europeans and americans also begun to post photos of food. I can’t imagine the number of photos of cupcakes posted every day by americans !
