#LGBTElders | SAGE Launches Storytellers Contest to Raise Awareness

Services and Advocacy for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Elders

SAGE, the world’s largest LGBTQ advocacy organization, launched a nationwide storytelling contest in the US to raise awareness about LGBT seniors and consciousness regarding the lived narratives and needs of our elders. SAGE has already begun posting content on both their YouTube and Podomatic channels. The voting period runs from November 7 to November 21, 2013, and the contest winner will receive an Amazon gift certificate and worldwide recognition for their story.

Official Rules: Enter the SAGE Storytelling Contest

SAGE wants to know more about your family, friends, community, and what they mean to you. We want to know about a time when you may have felt alone but found a connection that sustained you. Or maybe a time when you built a circle of support for yourself or for someone else in need.

Tell us: What does “community” mean to you? How do you stay connected to the people who matter most to you? Stories connect us—share yours today.

Contest Rules

Submissions to the SAGE Story contest will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. EST on November 6, 2013.

SAGE accepts written stories, as well as video, photo, and podcast submissions; see submission form for suggested word count and/or file size.

SAGE retains the right to run story submissions on our site. Copyright remains with the author/storyteller.
