Pokemon Go was released on Wednesday July 6 and it has already taken the world by storm. I haven’t started it myself but its all anyone can talk about. Pokemon is a hugely popular Nintendo game franchise where you go on a journey to try to catch all the monsters. This new game that they released for iOS and Android is different because it relies on augmented reality on your smart phones to play. In Pokemon Go you have to walk around various locations such as your local park or coffee shop, to find different Pokemon.
The game has gotten so big that there have been various news reports about muggings, car accidents, breaking and entering restricted areas. People have been recklessly driving while playing it making it just as dangerous as texting and driving. There have been some positive articles out there too about playing. It is getting people out of their house exercising and promoting mental health. There are large communities getting together and living the nostalgia from the video games. Too bad I keep hearing the servers keep going down. Are you playing?

I’m playing but right now the game is super buggy… Crashes and server issues. Did manage to find a Pikachu in downtown san Jose tho 🙂
