I love celebrating New Lunar Year! Every year my family would start the celebration with lighting a roll or fire crackers at 12:01 AM on the New Year day at our porch. The fire cracker last for several minutes while my family wished each other a prosperous year. Even though the fire crackers create a lot smoke, we keep the front door open to welcome in the smoke for good luck. During the New Lunar Year weekend, we have a huge family gathering and we pass out red envelopes with money inside to the younger family members.
As a child I used to love receiving lucky money and if I’ve collected over $100 bucks then it was a great year. Now that I’m the older family member, I enjoy giving out lucky money to my little cousins and continuing my family tradition. I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year.
I love your traditions! Family traditions is really the best bonding moments, in my opinion.
