Should I keep this or give it away? It’s a question I have to consistently ask myself as I decide whether to pack it with me to LA. For clothes a friend of mine suggested that if I only wear it less than 5 times a year then I should let it go. I totally agree with him, my go to clothes are a few favorite shirts and jeans of mine and the rest just collect dust in my closet. Since I’m moving to L.A. I have donated a bunch of my winter jackets. I figured I would not have to spend as much on summer clothes because this summer fashion is showing off my abs! You can say, I’m packing a 6 pack this summer.
Having just filed my taxes, if you do donate clothes or household goods to Goodwill, etc., don’t forget to get a donation receipt. It’s nice to shed things you do not need and a kindness to help others who can use it, but not bad to reduce your income tax either.
Don’t forget to save a nice dark suit. something tells me you would look stunning dressed as a young attorney or broker.
