San Francisco Graffiti, New Photos Released

This week, San Francisco based photographer extraordinaire, West Phillips (www.westphillips.com) took me to an old WWII bunker at the Marin Headlands for a couple of photo shoots. Today there is a lot of graffiti around and the structures are falling apart, but I think it makes an incredible location for this new and exciting set of galleries. Check them out and tell me what you think.

  1. It’s fascinating what a photographer can do. The setting is amazing, but what struck me most is your expression in the first picture. On top of all that chiseled muscle is such an open and young face with a warm and inviting gaze. Can’t put it into words well, but it’s a wonderful accomplishment for the collaboration. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

  2. You’re right Peter, West is amazing. He finds spots like that all over the world -- though I know that the Bay Area is one of his favorite haunts. His juxtapositon of imposibly beautiful models against complex, distressed backgrounds is unique (and very compelling). Having said that, I commented to him that I really loved the simple photo that you took with him, very natural, masculine and relaxed (though of course ab-tastic).

  3. That old bunker never looked so good. I’ll get into a foxhole anytime with you. I’ll even use my own entrenching tool. That’s army lingo for small shovel. Cheers!
