I cannot stress enough how important it is to find your perfect match… at the gym that is. I have a few work out buddies I love working out with here in Chicago, but today I had to fly solo for my workout and it ended up being a huge mistake. I recruited a random guy to help me with my standing shoulder press with the barbell when I got to this part of my routine. I don’t know why, but I trusted this guy to know what he was doing, I mean, I always see him working out in the gym and he’s super fit. I totally misjudged this book by it’s cover. Without double checking, I went ahead with my shoulder press, only to quickly discover that he put uneven weights on the barbell. So the right was totally lopsided and it caused me to pull a muscle in my neck. I can’t even turn my head to the side now! Anyway, I want you guys to learn from my mistakes so please, please take away from this blog that you have to find a good partner when working out who you can trust to have your back.
